Gachagua to Kindiki: ‘If you want me to be your brother, stop being used by Ruto to divide Mt Kenya’

Rigathi Gachagua, the former Deputy President of Kenya, has confronted his successor Kithure Kindiki, urging him to stop being manipulated by President William Ruto to create divisions in the Mt Kenya region. Gachagua warned that continued political fragmentation could harm the community. Kindiki, in response, reaffirmed his relationship with Gachagua, stating that being called "brother" was rooted in historical unity rather than personal affection.

The Deputy President criticized Ruto's administration for attempting to weaken the political influence of Mt Kenya by driving a wedge among its communities, emphasizing the importance of unity among the Kikuyu, Embu, and Meru communities ahead of the 2027 General Election. Gachagua accused Ruto of seeking to exploit regional divisions for political gain, urging Kindiki to engage directly with him over regional issues instead of participating in divisive political activities.
