ESSCom chief: Claims of armed men entering Semporna, Lahad Datu baseless

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 16 — Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) chief Datuk Victor Sanjos has dismissed claims of armed men entering Semporna and Lahad Datu in Sabah as false. He also expressed confidence that the security situation in both areas remains under control. Victor affirmed that the viral claims circulating on social media are not true, adding that the command is fully aware of the photos shared online.

He stated that the current situation is being closely monitored to detect any potential threats or suspicious activities that might endanger the safety of residents and the waters of East Sabah. Victor emphasized that ESSCom adheres to rigorous security protocols, particularly in sensitive locations and maritime zones of the East Sabah Security Zone.

He warned that any reports of security threats should be reported to the relevant authorities for verification and appropriate action.
