Dubai delivery riders get new e-bike service in 11 areas

Dubai is expanding its sustainable last-mile delivery service, introducing e-bikes at 11 new locations across the emirate. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the e-bike delivery service following a successful trial, joining seven additional areas to the existing authorized spots. These include Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Dubai Media City, Al Twar 1 and 2, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Al Qusais 1, and Dubai Marina.

The initiative targets short-distance deliveries, aiming to reduce the reliance on larger delivery vehicles in congested urban areas. By promoting e-bike use, the RTA hopes to enhance connectivity between key urban locations, contributing to more efficient first- and last-mile delivery solutions. This expansion aligns with Dubai's broader sustainability goals, supporting a greener and more efficient urban mobility system.

The RTA's last-mile plan also addresses practical concerns, such as providing rest areas for delivery riders at Dubai Metro and bus stations, helping ease workloads during the summer months. This initiative reflects Dubai's commitment to cleaner, more sustainable transport solutions, improving overall mobility within the city while paving the way for a more environmentally friendly urban future.
