DAP wajar kekal dalam kerajaan, tetapi nilai semula hubungan dengan Anwar, kata perwakilan

Sangeet Kaur Deo, a Selangor DAP representative, argues that the DAP should remain in the federal coalition government for now, but the party must reassess its relationship with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Speaking at a special DAP congress, Sangeet stated that the party should continue to be in the federal coalition because it needs time to rebuild trust and confidence in the party.

"We can show various reforms implemented by our minister, and many have been carried out at the ministry level." However, Sangeet warns that the party cannot ignore the bigger issues it faces. "In many issues, we choose to remain silent because we do not want to challenge the stability of the government." Sangeet also admits that the DAP cannot deny the existence of several controversies related to corruption that have become increasingly prominent while the party is in the government.

"We have a mandate to govern on the promise to tackle corruption. Have we done that? No." DAP has faced controversies, including with government institutions such as the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission. Zahid Hamidi, the President of Umno, obtained a DNAA (acquittal without sentencing) for 47 charges against him. The party also faces controversy involving state institutions, including the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission.

Sangeet calls on the Central Executive Committee to seriously reassess its relationship with Anwar. "By unifying fellow coalition members, what is he actually doing? He is dividing us and isolating one side from another. He is strengthening Umno. This cannot be overlooked."
