Bryce Young: Panthers weren't able to execute, it sucks

Bryce Young and the Panthers' first-string offense struggled in the preseason opener against the Bills, committing three turnovers by turning the ball over on downs. Young expressed his dissatisfaction, stating, "Obviously not the start we wanted," and adding, "We weren't able to execute today. It sucks." He vowed that he and his teammates would review the game footage and work on improving their performance.

Young admitted to taking responsibility for the mistakes, saying, "We all want to do a better job, myself included." The quarterback completed three of five passes for 18 yards and was sacked once during his time on the field.

Panthers head coach Dave Canales had hoped for Young to log around 20 plays, but after the game, he decided to pull him after just three series. Canales admitted that he was disappointed with the outcome, as the three drives resulted in three three-and-outs. "My hope was 20-ish plays, but I also had a three series cap in my mind," Canales explained. "We didn't earn those extra reps. The first quarter was over, we had three series, we went three-and-out three times. So we've got to do better."
