Bapa saya tak ditahan SPRM, kata anak Azeez

Cikgu Azeez Abdul Rahim, the son of former Baling parliamentary assemblyman Khairul Azman Abdul Azeez, refuted reports on social media that his father was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) in connection with a tabling office report (RCI) of the Haji Trust Fund Institution (TH) Ombudsman. In a statement on Facebook late Friday, Azeez claimed his father was resting at home and denied allegations of detention.

"To those asking about his whereabouts, I convey my deepest gratitude and inform you that my father remains at home resting. I hope everything is clarified, and all forms of investigation are conducted with utmost integrity, fairness, and transparency," he said. Speculations about Azeez's detention spread across various social media platforms late last night.

Azeez was appointed as a member of the TH Board of Directors in 2011 and became its chairman in July 2013. He stepped down as chairman in May 2018. On July 30, Azeez reportedly said he was willing to be re-interviewed if needed in response to allegations of misconduct in the RCI TH report. Therefore, should he be invited for further investigation, he is willing to cooperate fully.

However, he warned against repeating inflammatory statements for political gain, according to Sinar Harian last month.
