Amit Shah slams Congress, but BJP had its own slip-up over Vande Mataram in Rajasthan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized Congress leader Sonia Gandhi following the Congress party's Independence Day celebration in New Delhi, accusing the party of dishonoring Vande Mataram and guaranteeing that the people will never forgive such an offense. However, the controversy involving the BJP resurfaced just a day later when the Rajasthan state president of the BJP inadvertently played a movie version of the national song at a party function in Jaipur.

The song, which was originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar in the 1952 film Anand Math, was played instead of the standard rendition. BJP's Madan Rathore, along with several party leaders and MLAs, had hoisted the Tricolour at the historic Badi Chaupad in Jaipur on Independence Day. After the incident, Rathore apologized for the technical error, stating that the national song was presented in an inappropriate musical style.

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) also penalized the sound agency involved, withholding payment due to the negligence on the day of the important national festival. Meanwhile, a BJP worker from the Minorities Cell, Khalid Bandook, experienced a heart attack during the Jaipur function and was admitted to the hospital for recovery.

The incident at the BJP event led to questions about the conduct and knowledge of the party leaders regarding the rules and regulations for honoring the national flag and national song.
