Al-Nassr: ‘This is probably my last year’ – Ronaldo hints at retirement

Cristiano Ronaldo, the forward for Al-Nassr, has suggested that the current season may mark the end of his professional football career, according to the DAILY POST. The 41-year-old Portugal captain made this statement in an interview with Vogue magazine, published on Sunday. Ronaldo's revelation follows his recent marriage to long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who made his senior debut for Sporting Lisbon in 2002, expressed a desire to conclude his career on a high. "This is probably my last year of football and I want to leave a spectacular legacy," Ronaldo stated. The football icon added that he has already planned life after his playing days. "I have numerous activities to keep me engaged, so it's challenging to discuss just one.

Football could leave a substantial void, and it's essential to fill your time in various ways, not solely one," he noted. Ronaldo also emphasized the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle, mentioning his passion for padel, travel, and continuing to relish his earnings. After all, he has dedicated 25 years to football, investing significant effort in his pursuit.

Ronaldo has achieved remarkable success, winning league titles in England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia, and holds the record for being the all-time leading scorer in men's international football. He has scored 976 goals for club and country, with just 24 goals remaining to reach the 1,000 milestone. Ronaldo has one year remaining on his contract with the Saudi Pro League champions, Al-Nassr.

He did not participate in the team's opening match of the title defense against Al Fateh on Saturday, opting to watch the game from the stands alongside his family.
