Angels Call Up Former All-Star Pitcher

The Los Angeles Angels have brought back a former All-Star pitcher to their roster. Veteran Michael Fulmer has been called up to join the team. Alongside Fulmer, catcher Sebastian Rivero has been placed on the 60-day injured list, while pitcher Sammy Peralta has been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake. Fulmer, who stands at 6-foot-2, has yet to take the mound in an MLB game this season.

However, this call-up brings him one step closer to achieving that goal. In his previous MLB appearance this season, Fulmer compiled a 0-0 record, a 4.76 ERA, and three strikeouts across three games, with two for the Boston Red Sox and one for the Chicago Cubs. After struggling to maintain a spot in the majors in recent times, Fulmer had an impressive start to his professional career.

In 2016, he won the American League Rookie of the Year Award, and the following year, he was an All-Star with the Detroit Tigers. Now, Fulmer is eager to demonstrate that he can once again be an MLB-caliber pitcher after securing this call-up from the Angels. Over his eight-season MLB career, spanning from 2013 to 2020, Fulmer has appeared in 265 games for the Tigers, Twins, Cubs, and Red Sox, compiling a 37-50 record, a 3.95 ERA, and 578 strikeouts.
