3 held over scuffle at alleged illegal parking business in KL

Policing authorities in Kuala Lumpur have apprehended three individuals following a physical altercation at a vacant lot adjacent to the OUG Community Hall, allegedly linked to an unauthorized parking operation. City police chief Fadil Marsus revealed that a woman reported the incident, claiming that one suspect had verbally abused her, struck her on the head, and threatened additional violence, including causing trouble at her place of employment.

During the subsequent arrest, Fadil disclosed that all the suspects were aged between 20 and 26 and possessed prior criminal records. One suspect was detained for two days, while the remaining two were held for one day. The investigation is currently focused on charges of criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt.

The case has been instigated by the woman who lodged the complaint, and she urged the public to provide any relevant information to the Brickfields police hotline at 03-22979222, the Kuala Lumpur police hotline at 03-21159999, or any local police station.

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok further reported that the unauthorized parking business's operator had disregarded Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) directive from August 4 to cease operations. Subsequently, DBKL and the federal territories lands and mines department conducted enforcement actions, ultimately dismantling the business at the site. However, the operator reportedly returned to the location and engaged in an altercation with a member of the Seputeh Residents’ Representative Council.
