3 held over scuffle at alleged illegal parking business in KL

Three men have been arrested in connection with a physical altercation at a vacant lot allegedly linked to an unauthorized parking business in Kuala Lumpur. City police chief Fadil Marsus revealed that a woman reported the incident after she was verbally abused, struck in the head, and threatened with further violence by one of the suspects.

This alleged assault, along with threats to harm her workplace, prompted the police to apprehend the three alleged perpetrators, aged between 20 and 26. All three have prior criminal records.

Fadil stated that two suspects were held for two days, while the remaining suspect faced one day of remand. The case is under investigation for criminal intimidation and voluntarily causing hurt. Police have urged anyone with information to reach out to the Brickfields police hotline, Kuala Lumpur police hotline, or the nearest police station.

Seputeh MP Teresa Kok reported that the owner of the unauthorized parking business disregarded Kuala Lumpur City Hall's (DBKL) order to cease operations on August 4. Despite the enforcement action taken by DBKL and the federal territories lands and mines department, the business operator returned to the site and allegedly engaged in a confrontation with a member of the Seputeh Residents’ Representative Council.
