250 ahli PKR Melaka berarak tuntut segera siasat TH

Nearly 250 members of the PKR party in Melaka wore black and gathered outside the International Trade Centre Melaka to demand that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim accelerate investigations into the Tabung Haji (TH). The group carried banners stating "Protecting the Tabung Haji" and "Justice", repeatedly shouting "siasat" outside the PKR national congress venue.

Participant Nasir said the activists were PKR Melaka members with no party leadership involved in the protest. "We asked the Prime Minister to accelerate investigations into the Tabung Haji," he told FMT. Ashiq added that the TH issue is close to the hearts of Malays and Muslims, and needs to be investigated appropriately. "Action must be taken because this is our parents' money, and it is also money for the pilgrimage of our children."

The Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into TH last month called for comprehensive improvements, including stricter oversight, forensic audit of selected investments, and limiting political interference within the institution. This led to investigations by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Commission for Corruption Prevention Malaysia (SPRM), the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and several high-profile arrests.
