Wings Continue UConn Connection With New Developmental Player

The Dallas Wings have bolstered their roster with the signing of guard Christyn Williams, adding to their growing list of former University of Connecticut (UConn) players. The team announced on Friday that Williams has signed a developmental contract, bringing their total of UConn alumni to three. Previously, the Wings had signed draft picks Azzi Fudd and Paige Bueckers, who were the top two selections in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

Williams, a four-season collegiate player at UConn from 2018 to 2022, has limited professional experience, having played in only four WNBA games with the Wings in 2025. In those brief appearances, she averaged 4.3 points, one rebound, and 0.8 assists while appearing in 11.3 minutes per game. Prior to her short stint with the Wings, Williams was a high-priority pick, being the 14th overall selection in the 2022 WNBA Draft by the Washington Mystics. However, she suffered a season-ending injury before her rookie season.

Throughout her collegiate career at UConn, Williams played alongside Bueckers and Fudd, helping the Huskies reach the Final Four three times. Her outstanding performance earned her the 2022 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award, which recognizes the nation's top shooting guard. With this addition, the Dallas Wings have a roster composed of three UConn alumni, placing them second only to the Golden State Valkyries, who boast four former Huskies on their team.
