'Unfortunate, irresponsible': J&K CM's remarks on Article 370 & PoK draw BJP fire

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has harshly criticized the remarks made by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during his Independence Day speech. The BJP accused the chief minister of creating confusion in the Valley and drawing fire from the BJP. In contrast, Sunil Sharma, the leader of the opposition in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly, defended the chief minister's speech.

Sharma argued that the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019 had strengthened the federal structure in Kashmir, leading to Vande Mataram resonating across the region. Sharma also highlighted the importance of the chief minister's speech in paying tribute to the country's soldiers, martyrs, and the Tricolour, emphasizing that the chief minister's remarks had nothing to do with political games.
