Tengku Hassanal kerabat diraja pertama tamat kursus asas helikopter

Sultan Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah recently granted first-flight wings to Crown Prince Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, making him the first royal family member to complete and pass the basic helicopter pilot training course at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) College. He is among 40 participants who successfully completed the training and received TUDM helicopter pilot wings at the 2026 Wings Commissioning Ceremony in KTU's parade ground.

The ceremony also awarded wings to 39 other Royal Malaysian Army (ATM) instructors, comprising 37 young aircrew pilots and two combat air sensor officers from all three branches of the ATM. The event included four flight training courses: basic helicopter training series 67(A)/26, basic helicopter training series 67/25, basic training series 87/25, and basic combat sensor training series 01/25.

The Crown Prince completed the 67(A)/26 series from June 2 to July 31, using an EC120B Colibri helicopter and excelled in various flight assessments, including Basic Handling Test (BHT), Instrument Flying Test (IFT), Final Navigation Test (FNT), and Final Handling Test (FHT). During the ceremony, Royal Malaysian Air Force General Muhamad Norazlan Aris praised the achievements of the Crown Prince and the other participants, attributing their success to perseverance, determination, mental resilience, and high discipline throughout the training.

He emphasized that the wings commissioning is not the end of the journey but rather the beginning of a much greater trust and responsibility. "From this day forward, the wings you wear carry with them honor, hope, and confidence in service and the nation," he said during the ceremony. General Norazlan added that every pilot user is expected to maintain discipline, integrity, bravery, and loyalty while fulfilling their trust and protecting national airspace.

He stated that with the knowledge, skills, and character acquired during the training, all participants are believed to be capable of fulfilling their duties with full dedication for religion, nation, and country.
