Tengku Hassanal kerabat diraja pertama tamat kursus asas helikopter

Sultan Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah has become the first royal relative to complete and pass the basic course of helicopter flying at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RAF) College (KTU). Among 40 participants, he was one of 47 who successfully completed the training and received RAF wings at the 2026 Wings Inauguration Ceremony at KTU's parade ground.

Sultan Pahang, who also holds the rank of Colonel in the RAF, received RAF wings on 31 July after completing the course from June 2 to July 31 in the EC120B Colibri helicopter. The ceremony included four different helicopter courses: basic helicopter course 67(A)/26, basic helicopter course 67/25, basic course 87/25, and basic course of combat sensor 01/25.

The ceremony also saw the awarding of six medals to the best trainees based on performance in flying, academic, discipline, and leadership. RAF General Muhamad Norazlan Aris praised the determination, enthusiasm, mental resilience, and high discipline of the participants, emphasizing that behind every success are supportive parents and family members who never stopped praying for the graduates.

He reminded that receiving the wings marks the beginning of a much larger responsibility, and from this day forward, the graduates carry with them honor, hope, and trust in their service and country. Norazlan emphasized that every pilot is expected to always uphold discipline, integrity, bravery, and loyalty in fulfilling their duties and safeguarding the nation's airspace.

He said that with the knowledge, skills, and character developed during the course, all of them are believed to be able to fulfill their responsibilities with full dedication for religion, nation, and country.
