Shivalinge Gowda to focus on Yettinahole project, Hassan airport and drought-relief works

Excise Minister K.M. Shivalinge Gowda, also in-charge of Hassan district, announced that the State government would ensure the Yettinahole drinking water project progresses and Arasikere taluk tanks fill up soon. The project faced delays due to land acquisition issues, but the government intends to resolve these issues promptly.

Additionally, the Minister highlighted the lift irrigation projects' early completion in different parts of the district. A super-speciality hospital in Hassan is nearing completion and will be dedicated to the public soon. In response to the long-standing demand for an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Hassan, Gowda mentioned that the necessary land has been acquired, but the landowners have not received adequate compensation.

The Minister pledged to make all efforts to get the IIT sanctioned for the district, with a delegation heading to Delhi to discuss the matter with the relevant authorities. Gowda also emphasized his commitment to uphold the district's dignity, especially given the farming community's severe drought. He intends to prioritize the Hassan Airport project, considering district development as his sole agenda.

Gowda was accompanied by Member of Parliament Shreyas Patel, MLA Swaroop Prakash, and district officers during the Independence Day programme. Various field achievers were honored on the occasion.
