Sabah hospital sexual harassment case: MOH moves director out, complainant under treatment, PSD to decide next step

Kota Kinabalu, Aug 15 - The Health Ministry has concluded its internal probe into a sexual harassment allegation against a Sabah hospital director, moving the officer to a medical role at the Sabah Health Department, according to a report by The New Straits Times. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad disclosed this at a press conference following the ministry's Training Institutes convocation at Universiti Malaysia Sabah.

The official report was forwarded to the Public Service Department (PSD) for further action depending on the officer's rank. The complainant, who was allegedly harassed, has received full support and psychiatric treatment, returning to a more comfortable working environment. The case came to light last month via Kapayan assemblyman Chin Teck Ming and Sabah Warisan Health Bureau chief Dr Istefan Koh.

Police confirmation of a police report lodged earlier this year was also provided. Dzulkefly stated that administrative measures were taken post-investigation, with any subsequent disciplinary action falling under PSD's jurisdiction.
