Rahul Gandhi to take ‘Chhatron ki Goonj’ to Pune on August 22, focus on women’s issues

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi announced that the next edition of the Chhatron ki Goonj event, aimed at addressing student issues, will take place in Pune on August 22. He launched the campaign from Kota, a coaching hub in Rajasthan, on June 17 to highlight challenges in the education sector and problems faced by students. Rahul addressed the second and third segments of the outreach program in Dehradun and Prayagraj on July 17 and August 8, respectively.

The final segment of the Chhatron Ki Goonj will be hosted in Pune on August 22, with a focus on women-centric issues, according to MPCC president Harshwardhan Sapkal.

During his address, Rahul Gandhi urged students to join the campaign and emphasized that what girls in the country needed was equality, safety, and opportunities. However, he pointed out that instead, they faced insecurity, discrimination, and a long wait for their true rights. He reiterated that girls in the country require equality, safety, opportunities, and the freedom to express themselves. Instead, they have encountered insecurity, discrimination, and continued waiting for their genuine rights.

Rahul Gandhi described India's youth as the nation's greatest asset, but pointed out that lack of jobs, expensive education, paper leaks, access to credit, and the increasing use of artificial intelligence were inhibiting their progress. He aimed to discuss the "pain, data, and wealth" faced by young Indians and the economic resources that should rightfully belong to them.
