Northern Police Commander vows to maintain order at NPP elections

The Northern Police Commander, DCOP Wisdom Lavoe, has pledged to uphold order during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Regional Delegates Congress in the Northern Region. Speaking to delegates, candidates, and their agents at Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Lavoe cautioned that the Police will not tolerate any form of misconduct or violence.

He informed that approximately 300 officers have been assigned to ensure security and maintain law and order throughout the electoral process. Lavoe highlighted that the deployment was prompted by past incidents of unrest during similar elections. He assured participants that the officers are ready and committed to upholding the required standards.

Lavoe personally will be present at the venue to maintain order and urged all participants to strictly adhere to the electoral protocols. He emphasized the need for cooperation between delegates, candidates, and their supporters with the security personnel to guarantee a peaceful electoral process. Additionally, he warned against the presence of bodyguards and large supporter groups at the venue.
