PSG bolsters star-studded attack by signing World Cup winner Ferran Torres from Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has reinforced its attacking lineup by signing World Cup winner Ferran Torres from Barcelona on a five-year deal. The Spanish champion paid 50 million euros ($58 million) for the 26-year-old player, who will wear the No. 9 jersey. Torres scored Spain's winning goal in extra time of the 2018 World Cup final against Argentina.

The transfer marks Torres' second major move; he joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2022 for £55 million. Prior to that, he played for Valencia. Torres, known more for his roaming role than prolific scoring, scored 65 goals in 207 games for Barcelona, including 21 in all competitions during the 2021-2022 season. This signing reunites Torres with Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who gave the player his international debut in 2020.

PSG's attack also includes Ballon d'Or winner Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Bradley Barcola, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Maghnes Akliouche.
