#OsunDecides2026: Jubilation as Adeleke wins polling unit with 421 votes

Jubilation erupted in Osun State on Saturday following the victory of Accord Party governorship candidate Ademola Adeleke at his polling unit. Adeleke garnered 421 votes in Ward 02, Polling Unit 009, located in Abogunde Compound, Ede North Local Government Area. Celebrations were witnessed among his supporters upon the announcement of the result at the polling station.

Three leading candidates in the Osun governorship election expressed confidence in their respective victories as the electoral process progressed into the sorting and collation stages. Ademola Adeleke, Governor of the Accord Party, had earlier cast his vote with optimism ahead of the election. Opposition candidate Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, also voting in his respective polling unit, expressed confidence in winning while speaking with journalists after his turn.

African Democratic Congress candidate Najeem Salaam raised concerns regarding the alleged non-recognition of his party agents in various regions during the election. By 5:24 PM on Saturday, the IReV portal showed that 1,386 out of the 3,763 unit results had been uploaded.
