#OsunDecides2026: Jubilation as Adeleke wins polling unit with 421 votes

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke celebrated victory on Saturday after winning his polling unit in the governorship election. The Accord Party candidate secured 421 votes at Ward 02, Polling Unit 009, located in Abogunde Compound, Ede North Local Government Area. Following the announcement of the result, Adeleke's supporters were seen rejoicing.

Earlier, PUNCH Online reported that the three leading candidates in the election – Adeleke, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, and Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress – expressed confidence in their chances of winning as the polls moved into the sorting and collation phase. Adeleke, who had just cast his vote, also voiced confidence in his victory after securing the mandate of the electorate.

Bola Oyebamiji, the opposition candidate, and Najeem Salaam, the African Democratic Congress candidate, both spoke with journalists after voting, with Oyebamiji expressing confidence in his victory. Salaam, on the other hand, raised concerns over the alleged non-recognition of his party agents in various areas across the state during the election.

As of 5:24 PM on Saturday, according to a check by a correspondent on the IReV portal, 1,386 out of 3,763 unit results had been uploaded.
