Osun Decides: Adeleke fighting for his political survival — Shehu Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani has painted a grim picture of the political climate surrounding the Osun State governorship election, describing it as heavily stacked against incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke. According to Sani, a significant presence of influential figures from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State contrasts sharply with the lack of prominent opposition leaders.

He likened this to a zebra facing a pride of lions, highlighting the dire situation Adeleke finds himself in. "All the big shots of the ruling party are in the state the governorship election is taking place. The big shots of the opposition are somewhere else, leaving the incumbent Governor to battle for his life," Sani remarked.

These comments were made as vote counting and sorting operations are in progress across Osun State following the recent voting. The highly contested governorship race is between Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC's Bola Oyebamiji, with ADC candidate Najeem Salaam also making a notable bid.
