Mumbai Rotary Clubs Launch Impact Games India, A First-Of-Its-Kind City-Wide Multi-Sport Event For Mumbaikars

Mumbai, August 15, 2026 - A groundbreaking city-wide multi-sport event, Impact Games India (IGI), is set to launch in Mumbai this October, bringing together thousands of Mumbaikars across various age groups, backgrounds, and athletic abilities. Organized by the Rotary Club of Mumbai SOBO Charitable Trust under the umbrella of Rotary District 3141, IGI aims to set a new precedent for community engagement and charitable giving through the universal language of sport.

Differing from traditional one-day sporting events, IGI will span four consecutive weekends in October 2026, hosting over 15 different sports, including racquet sports like badminton and tennis, team sports such as cricket, football, and volleyball, mind sports like chess, bridge, and carrom, as well as inclusive and adaptive categories like blind chess and disability sports. This inclusivity ensures the event is accessible to every Mumbaikar, fostering a sense of unity and purpose.

Rajan Dua, District Governor of Rotary District 3141, emphasized the event's potential for long-term impact, stating that it can serve as a sustainable platform to raise funds for various causes. All net proceeds from registrations and partnerships will be directed towards verified charitable initiatives managed by the Rotary Club of Mumbai SOBO Charitable Trust.

Sanket Jain, Project Director and President of the Rotary Club of Mumbai SOBO, highlighted that IGI is not merely a competition but a community movement focused on well-being and purpose. By registering for the event, participants join a community that competes with a sense of responsibility. The initiative has gained recognition from Fit India, the Government of India's national fitness and healthy living movement, and will also support the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, a national campaign for a drug-free India.
