Lindsay Clancy murder trial: prosecutors revive theory of faked suicide attempt

Prosecutors have introduced a new theory in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, suggesting she faked a suicide attempt before allegedly killing her three children. To support their argument, they pointed to internet searches made on the family computer in the months prior to the killings, which included searches for suicide methods, psychiatric medications, and ketamine therapy.

Additionally, Clancy's cellphone revealed searches for "can you treat a sociopath?" and notes about depression and exhaustion. Just before the killings, Clancy wrote in her notes app, "Medication stole my motherhood and my life... prescription medication stole me from my own body." The prosecution contends that her actions, such as sending her husband out for takeout and displaying a plan to kill her children, indicate she was well-prepared for the murders.

However, her defense team argues that Clancy suffered from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder, and that she was overmedicated by healthcare professionals who failed to address her mental health concerns.
