Opinion: The Lindsay Clancy case shows the limits of postpartum psychiatry

Advocates for Lindsay Clancy, a 36-year-old Connecticut mother accused of murdering her three children in 2023, are planning to hold rallies across the United States and even in the Netherlands, according to CT Insider. Clancy is currently on trial for the alleged strangling of her children in their family home basement.

The supporters' movement, called "Stand In Peace for Lindsay," aims to demonstrate their peaceful support for Clancy during her murder trial, which is currently in its fourth week. A rally is scheduled for 7:45 a.m. on Thursday at Plymouth County Superior Court in Plymouth, Massachusetts, featuring an AI-generated image of women holding hands outside the courthouse dressed in pink, as per a flyer shared on social media.

The organizers have distributed similar flyers advertising rallies in locations like New York City, Phoenix, Arizona, Fort Worth, Texas, and the Netherlands. However, there is no rally planned in Connecticut. Supporters who cannot attend local events are encouraged to organize gatherings in their own cities simultaneously.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the parents of Lindsay Clancy, Michael and Paula Musgrove, who are facing financial challenges due to the legal proceedings. The fundraiser has raised over $927,565 towards its $2 million target, with the funds intended to help with travel, accommodation, living costs, and other family-related expenses they have incurred over the past three years.

Both parents have given their consent and knowledge for the campaign, and Clancy's defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, is aware of the fundraising initiative.
