Lebih 25,000 terima manfaat rakan niaga SARA di Pulau Bum-Bum

More than 25,000 residents on Pulau Bum Bum, near Semporna in Sabah, have benefited from Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) assistance, according to Minister of Finance II Amir Hamzah Azizan. At a Koperasi Anugerah Hj Badli event, he announced that this makes Rakan Niaga SARA number 33 for Semporna and the sole Rakan Niaga on Pulau Bum Bum.

Previously, families living on the island had to travel to the mainland city of Semporna by boat to receive SARA goods, a process that often proved difficult. Hamzah stated that the government will continue to identify areas with limited access, ensuring that the benefits of SARA reach more people. He emphasized that the government aims not only to provide aid but also to ensure that it reaches, is usable, and positively impacts the lives of the people.

The minister also mentioned plans to expand the rollout of SARA to other island communities in Sabah, inviting applications from eligible applicants through Mykasih Foundation. However, he stressed the importance of verifying eligibility and adherence to SARA's approach, including the provision of barcodes. The visit to Pulau Bum Bum is routine, allowing the minister to monitor and assess SARA's nationwide progress.

He highlighted the significance of visiting less-visited locations, ensuring that SARA's benefits extend to all areas of Sabah.
