Independence Day Turns Tragic In Datia: Class 11 Student Dies After Being Electrocuted While Hoisting Flag In School

In Datia district of Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident unfolded on Independence Day when a Class 11 student, Raj Kushwaha, lost his life after coming into contact with an 11-kV high-tension electricity line while attempting to hoist the national flag at a private school. Raj, a resident of Jonia village, was called back to the school after classes had concluded on Friday to assist with the Independence Day decorations.

He climbed onto the school roof to attach the flag using an iron pipe. Unfortunately, the iron pipe came into contact with an 11,000-volt high-tension power line that was overhead, resulting in an electric current passing through his body. Raj sustained severe burns and fell unconscious. Despite being taken to the district hospital by the school management, doctors were unable to save his life, and he was pronounced dead.

Raj's family has accused the school management of negligence and expressed their dissatisfaction over the delay in informing them about the incident, which lasted nearly an hour. They have called for actions to be taken against those responsible for the tragedy.
