Independence Day 2026: Over 1.41 Crore UP Schoolchildren Join Celebrations Across 1.32 Lakh Parishadiya Vidyalayas, KGBVs

On August 15, 2026, Independence Day celebrations in Uttar Pradesh saw over 1.41 crore schoolchildren participating in festivities across 1.32 lakh Parishadiya Vidyalayas and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas. The event was marked by the simultaneous chanting of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and the collective singing of the National Anthem and Vande Mataram, with students saluting the Tricolour throughout the day.

Schools were adorned with Tricolour decorations, flowers, and colorful displays, as children engaged in patriotic activities like songs, poems, dances, plays, and Tiranga rallies. The events aimed to inspire a sense of unity, empowerment, and responsibility among the younger generation to build a developed, united, and self-reliant India.
