Good governance must underpin every government, says Hamzah

Wawasan president Hamzah Zainudin has stated that good governance must serve as the foundational principle for any government, asserting that the Reset agenda is not solely a political slogan but a comprehensive plan to address various aspects of the nation's development. The Reset movement, spearheaded by Wawasan, which is a rebranded version of Parti Cinta Malaysia, seeks to overhaul the approach to the country's economy, education, national unity, and public welfare.

According to Hamzah, the agenda's core objective is to establish a shared vision for a more advanced and well-structured nation.

The Wawasan leader outlined three key pillars of the Reset movement. The first pillar is the establishment of a common goal aimed at fostering a more advanced and organized society. The second pillar emphasizes shared prosperity, which hinges on the expansion of the country's economy, but goes beyond mere GDP figures to encompass tangible improvements in the daily lives of citizens. Hamzah emphasized that this includes ensuring food security, income security, and adequate shelter for all.

The third pillar, dubbed "compassionate governance," extends the concept of good governance by incorporating elements of empathy and human consideration. While good governance is considered an essential baseline requirement, Hamzah argued that it should not be treated as a static concept subject to debate. Instead, this approach advocates for a system where all societal groups—wealthy, middle class, and poor—are treated as interdependent and mutually protected.

Hamzah stressed that the wealthy should contribute to the welfare of those in need, while the government should actively seek ways to uplift the impoverished. This holistic approach seeks to create a harmonious living environment where every individual feels secure and content in their homeland.
