‘God of War’ Actor Slams Amazon Series, HBO’s ‘Last of Us’ for Excluding Original Video Game Writers: ‘Drives Me Bonkers’

Actor Christopher Judge has voiced his discontent over the exclusion of original "God of War" writers from Amazon's upcoming TV adaptation of the video game series. Judge, who voiced and performed motion-capture for the series' protagonist Kratos in 2018's "God of War" and its 2022 sequel "God of War Ragnarök," criticized Amazon for not involving the creators and writers behind the games.

He expressed his hope that the "writers and developers" of the original games would receive the respect they deserve. Judge's comments were initially made during a panel at FanExpo Denver in May and later resurfaced online. He also addressed his frustrations regarding HBO's "The Last of Us" adaptation, praising Pedro Pascal and his cast but questioning why they didn't include the game's original writers.

Judge clarified that his dissatisfaction was not due to not being cast as Kratos and that he wouldn't want to be a distraction in a cameo role. The source of this frustration is the decision to not hire writers and developers from the successful video game series, causing Judge to express his frustration and disappointment.
