ECG announces power outages in parts of Accra, Central Region

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has reported power outages in various parts of Accra and the Central Region. In Accra West, an unplanned outage has impacted New Bortianor, Broadcasting Junction, Red Top, Adjiasco and neighboring communities. This disruption occurred due to a cable fault. Similarly, a cable fault at Dansoman Kitkat has caused power outages in Kit Kat, Kit Kat Down, Old Police Station, Accra Waste Sewage, Good Night, Datus Down, Dominion and nearby areas.

ECG's technical teams are working diligently to rectify the faults and restore electricity to the affected communities. Apologies have been extended on behalf of the company for the inconvenience caused by these unplanned outages.

ECG has also announced scheduled maintenance works in the Central Region. The first maintenance exercise is set to commence on Tuesday, August 18, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This will affect areas such as Asebu, Brebia, Apewosika, Nyamedom Town and surrounding communities. A second maintenance exercise is planned for Wednesday, August 19, from the same time frame, and will impact Asebu, Ekroful and surrounding areas.

ECG explains that these planned interruptions are essential for enhancing service delivery and advises residents in the affected zones to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements. The power distributor reiterates its apologies for any discomfort the maintenance works may cause.
