Anwar says allocations for Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah and Kelantan increased under Madani govt

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim addressed concerns that the Madani Government was neglecting certain states during his Presidential Policy Speech at the 2026 PKR National Congress in Melaka today. He emphasized that allocations to each state vary based on priorities and have consistently grown under his administration. Anwar highlighted that Sabah's expenditure has risen by 35% over the past three years, with the state government never raising the issue previously.

He also noted that allocations for Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah, and Kelantan have collectively increased under the current government. Terengganu's allocation grew from RM6 billion in 2022 to RM8.1 billion in 2026, while Perlis, Johor, and other states saw their allocations rise as well. Johor's allocation increased from RM10.2 billion in 2022 to RM14.6 billion in 2026.

Anwar specifically mentioned that the Federal allocation to Sabah increased by 35%, from RM13 billion in 2022 to RM17.6 billion in 2026, and that Sarawak's allocation rose by 48%, from RM10.2 billion in 2022 to RM15.1 billion.
