‘WhatsApp number was leaked’: Vikrant Massey recalls threats after The Sabarmati Report

Vikrant Massey, a renowned actor known for his work in The Sabarmati Report, shared his experiences with online abuse and threats that followed the release of the film. Speaking to Shekhar Suman on his YouTube show Shekhar Tonite, Massey expressed his concerns over the growing toxicity on social media, stating that it had a significant impact on his emotional and mental health.

He revealed that his WhatsApp number and car number were leaked, and he and his car received openly abusive threats, a situation that became particularly distressing when his six-month-old son was born. Despite the challenges, Massey emphasized that he had learned to detach himself from the negativity and realized that the reactions of others were not his responsibility.

He also discussed how success, particularly the recognition he gained after The Sabarmati Report, brought about increased anxiety and a sense of responsibility, making it difficult for him to fully embrace fame. The actor's decision to take a break from acting at the peak of his career was driven by the desire to be present for his son and his ailing father, an omission that was misinterpreted by many.
