URCS opens aid station for victims of Russian airstrike in Smila

The Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) has established an aid station to support victims of the recent Russian airstrike in Smila, located in the Cherkasy region. This town was hit again during the night, prompting a rapid response team from the Cherkasy Regional Organization of the Ukrainian Red Cross to begin working at the scene shortly after the attack. Volunteers from the rapid response team have been patrolling the area to locate those who have been affected.

On Friday, the URCS shared updates on their aid efforts via Facebook. The aid station opened by the organization offers essential facilities such as phone charging points, water, and tea, as well as psychological support and crucial information. Those living in damaged homes are being provided with temporary repair materials, which include OSB boards, slats, film, and emergency kits.

During nighttime hours, a UAV carrying shrapnel reportedly targeted a multi-story building in Smila, resulting in five injuries. Serious damage was also reported at one of the affected locations.
