According to police sources, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when the three individuals were transporting the newly built chariot of the Ayyanar temple from the village to its premises. As they were moving the chariot into the temple compound, the top portion of the chariot came into contact with an overhead electric wire, resulting in an electric shock for all three.
Annadurai and Paramasivam succumbed to their injuries immediately, while Rasu sustained an injury and was taken to the government hospital for treatment. The Kunnam police are currently investigating the incident.
