PS Omollo urges Kenyans to let leaders deliver, judge their record in 2027

Principal Secretary for Internal Security Raymond Omollo has urged Kenyans to give their leaders time to deliver on their programs, stating that voters will have a chance to evaluate their performance in the 2027 General Election. Speaking on August 14, 2026, Omollo emphasized that leadership positions are temporary and are granted to individuals for a limited time.

He urged citizens to respect those in positions of responsibility, including President William Ruto, and to avoid promoting disrespect towards leaders. Omollo called on communities, faith leaders, and other institutions to guide young people towards constructive participation in public affairs. He stated that leaders should be allowed to implement the programs and policies they were elected or appointed to pursue, and that citizens would have the opportunity to judge their record when elections occur.

Omollo emphasized that the ballot remains the primary avenue for Kenyans to decide whether leaders should retain their positions or be replaced, urging citizens to use the time between elections to assess the leaders' performance. He maintained that respect for leaders should not prevent citizens from holding them accountable, advocating for a balance where public officials are given the space to work while voters remain free to evaluate their record.
