Milanovich knows why Riders’ Harris thrives at 40

Scott Milanovich, head coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, is not surprised by the continued high level of performance from Trevor Harris, the quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Harris, 40 years old, is in his 14th CFL season and remains an elite player. Harris recently helped the Roughriders to the top of the West Division heading into their upcoming match against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Milanovich, who was once Harris's head coach with the Toronto Argonauts, attributes Harris's success to his dedication to maintaining his body and quick release. Harris's effectiveness is further enhanced by his extensive experience and ability to make quick decisions, which often frustrate opposing defensive lines. Over the past three games, Harris has thrown for 1,026 yards and seven touchdowns, including three 400-yard games this season.

Harris has a strong record against Hamilton, with a 12-5 head-to-head record. Despite Saskatchewan's recent dominance over Hamilton, Milanovich remains optimistic about the Tiger-Cats' chances, citing their offensive improvements and strong defensive play. However, Saskatchewan has historically won the last five matchups between these two teams, and Milanovich acknowledges that his team may face a challenge in stopping Harris's quick and effective passing game.
