Gender Ministry women’s team win 2026 Inter-Ministerial Football Tournament

The Gender Ministry of Ghana secured victory in the 2026 Civil Service Inter-Ministerial Women's Football Tournament, showcasing the department's significant contributions to the celebration of Civil Service Week. The championship game, held at the Accra Sports Stadium, featured the Gender Ministry's impressive free-kick goal that sealed their win against the Ministry of Defence.

This triumph was part of a week-long celebration organized to mark the 2026 Civil Service Week, which aimed to highlight the civil service's role in transforming government policies into tangible development outcomes, while promoting professionalism, teamwork, innovation, and improved public service. In addition to the football tournament, the Gender Ministry actively participated in various activities throughout the week.

These included a cleanup exercise to emphasize the importance of workplace cleanliness and environmental sanitation, as well as showcasing their work at the Civil Service Policy Fair and Exhibition. The ministry's staff and management also interacted with the public, providing insights into their gender, children, and social protection initiatives.

The week concluded with a lighter event, the cooking competition between the Gender Ministry and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, where they prepared delicious fufu with goat light soup. The women's football victory thus marked a fitting and celebratory end to the ministry's comprehensive participation in the Civil Service Week.
