Mercedes CLA Now Available In Malaysia For RM274,888

Mercedes-Benz has begun selling its electric CLA model in Malaysia, with the first deliveries taking place today. The CLA 250+ is the first car to bear the CLA name and features an electric motor delivering 272 horsepower and 335 Newton-meters of torque. This powertrain enables the vehicle to hit a top speed of 210km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.7 seconds. The Mercedes Electric Drive Unit (EDU) 2.0 and a rear axle two-speed transmission combine to provide both performance and efficiency.

The CLA's two-speed transmission has a short first gear ratio of 11:1, allowing for quick acceleration in urban environments while maintaining good fuel efficiency. The second gear ratio of 5:1 enhances power delivery at higher speeds and improves long-distance range and comfort on highways. The vehicle can reach its top speed in the second gear.

Charging the CLA is primarily done through DC fast charging, which can provide up to 325km of additional driving range in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions. However, the CLA relies on 800V DC charging infrastructure for this capability. AC charging is limited to a maximum of 11 kW.

Inside the cabin, the CLA features an MBUX Superscreen dashboard and cockpit, showcasing a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster made up of two 14-inch touchscreens. The dashboard is powered by the latest version of MB.OS operating system, providing drivers with a modern and intuitive interface.
