Malaysians offered F1 tickets from RM200 as Bahrain Grand Prix moves to Sepang

Malaysian Formula 1 enthusiasts can watch the Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang International Circuit from October 2-4 for as low as RM200, thanks to a new MyKad ticketing initiative. The event, originally scheduled for Bahrain but relocated to Malaysia due to F1 calendar adjustments, retains its Bahrain branding. Valid MyKad holders can secure three-day passes in various seating categories, with the cheapest option being the grassy Hillstand G at RM200.

Higher-end seats include Grandstand F at RM1,291.40 and the Main Grandstand at RM2,083.40. Ticket purchases require MyKad verification, with mismatched or unverified IDs leading to potential cancellations. Prices are paid in Bahraini dinar, converted to Malaysian ringgit at current exchange rates. Free admission is granted for children under three, while those aged three to six receive a 25% discount on all ticket types, except for Hillstand G. A high demand led to temporary glitches on the official ticketing website, which organizers are addressing by upgrading server capacity.

International attendees will face higher fees, with the Main Grandstand priced at approximately RM2,310.45. High-end seating like Grandstand K1 costs around RM1,537.30, and Grandstand F is priced at RM1,433.92. Hillstands B and C are available for RM899.01 and RM1,433.92, respectively. The race, branded as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, will take place at Sepang International Circuit from October 2-4.
