LRT3 fares kick in tomorrow after six-week free travel period

Shah Alam residents will start paying for Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) rides tomorrow, following a six-week trial period of free travel. Rapid KL announced the shift to a paid service will also cover its shuttle bus and Park N Ride facilities. The introduction of charges marks a significant step in operating the Shah Alam Line after the period of complimentary use, which was well-received by the public.

Rapid KL extended thanks to all users for their support and trust in public transport during the trial. Passengers were advised to ensure their fare cards had at least RM5 for their journeys. The LRT3's official MyRapid website provides fare rates, and concessionary fares through the MyRapid Concession Card are available for eligible groups, such as students, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities.

These passengers can use their concession cards to enjoy applicable fare rates. Rapid KL encourages the public to continue utilizing the Shah Alam Line and considers it an option for convenient, safer, and smoother daily travel.
