I don’t care what people say about my display of wealth — Dino Melaye

Former Kogi State Senator, Dino Melaye, has dismissed criticism over his lavish lifestyle, stating that he is not concerned with what people think about his display of wealth. In an interview with KAA Truths, Melaye said his primary concern is what God thinks of him, and once he has sorted that out, the opinions of others hold no weight.

The former lawmaker argued that he did not read comments about himself on social media, and therefore, the criticism from individuals who do not know him did not affect him. Melaye defended his public display of wealth, stating that he regarded the properties and other items he showcased as a way of expressing gratitude to God. He said he often included an acknowledgement of God's grace when sharing pictures of his assets online, emphasizing that his achievements were not solely due to his own efforts.

Melaye also dismissed suggestions that his wealth display was insensitive, asserting that he believed God wanted people to be successful rather than living in poverty. He highlighted his charitable activities, which included a widow programme, an orphanage, and scholarships for hundreds of students, all of which he believed were religious obligations rather than publicity stunts.
