Guan Eng accuses Penang CM of misleading people

DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng has criticized Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Chow Kon Yeow for misleading the public regarding the recent party delegates briefing with DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook. Lim stated that no one, including himself, raised any objections during the meeting held on Wednesday night at the Penang PH delegates gathering, despite Chow's claim that no one raised objections to PH Penang's decision to work with UMNO in the Penang state government.

Lim argued that the meeting's primary focus was on whether DAP should stay in the Federal government or not, and not on UMNO's role in the Penang state government. He also noted that only Loke spoke during the meeting and addressed the delegates' queries on the pros and cons of staying in the Federal government. Lim emphasized that Chow and other national CEC leaders did not address the delegates.

He further stated that Chow should not presume that all Penang delegates agreed with his decision to continue working with UMNO, as no one raised the issue during the meeting. Lim suggested that Chow should call for another internal DAP Penang delegates' meeting to gauge the sentiments of the Penang DAP delegates regarding PH Penang's political leadership's unconditional endorsement of UMNO's role in the Penang state government.
