Couple found dead at their house in Bengaluru’s Rajagopalnagar

On Friday, the bodies of a 32-year-old man and his 28-year-old wife were discovered at their rented house in Rajagopalnagar, northwest Bengaluru, amid suspicious circumstances, according to police. The couple, Sumanth Jain and Padmavathi Jain, had been married for more than three years and had been residing in Bengaluru since moving in four months ago.

A police officer stated that the couple had reportedly engaged in a marital dispute on Thursday night, which escalated, leading Jain to allegedly kill his wife, after which he took his own life. The incident came to light when Jain's relatives went to the house. Police received a voice message from Jain to his mother at 1.30 a.m. on Friday, where he reportedly said he was taking his life, and she could take his belongings.

However, his mother attempted to call him repeatedly after the message but received no response, prompting her to inform a relative. When they arrived at the house on Friday evening, they discovered the bodies. The police have registered an FIR under Section 103 of the BNS for murder and an Unnatural Death Report. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, with the cause of death pending.

No official statement has been made yet regarding how Jain allegedly killed his wife or the trigger point. Jain worked as a civil engineer at a company in Nandini Layout, while Padmavathi was also an engineer at a company in east Bengaluru’s Whitefield. The couple's families will receive the bodies after the post-mortem.
