Anwar to outline PKR’s strategic direction at party congress today

The PKR National Congress commenced yesterday, with the PKR Youth and Wanita PKR conferences presided over by deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar. The congress, set to take place over two days, brings together thousands of delegates and leaders from various parts of the country. It is slated to commence today under the theme "Memugar Reformasi, Membina Madani" (Revitalising Reformasi, Building Madani), which aims to strengthen the party's direction and reaffirm the principles of reformasi.

The congress is expected to feature around 2,500 delegates and approximately 3,000 observers, as well as diplomatic representatives from several major world powers, including the United States, China, Japan, and Australia. Leaders from local political parties are also anticipated to attend, adding to the significance of the event.

The agenda of the congress includes debate sessions on critical issues affecting the public, such as the economy, education, and political stability, with 16 speakers representing different states and party wings. The congress aims to reassert PKR's dedication to maintaining integrity, promoting social justice, and advocating for the interests of vulnerable groups.

An additional highlight of the congress is the presentation of the Bill Kayong Award to five families in recognition of the unwavering sacrifices made by members who served the party until the end of their lives. Prime minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to deliver his winding-up speech tomorrow before concluding the congress.
