Alterssicherung: Fünf Jahre Übergangsfrist bis zum Aus für „Rente mit 63“?

In the ongoing debate surrounding the "Rente mit 63" (Pension at 63), the SPD's Bundestag group spokesperson, Annika Klose, has introduced a new proposal. Klose is advocating for a five-year transition period leading up to the complete abolition of the pension at 63. The Rentenkommission, a committee responsible for these decisions, had previously suggested that the pension without a reduction should be phased out after 45 years of contributions, with the earliest possible implementation while maintaining constitutional safeguards.

Klose, who previously served as one of three Bundestag members in the committee, emphasized that five years is typically the norm for transition periods in pension matters. She further proposed that such a lengthy transition would be necessary, especially when considering existing partial retirement contracts that can last up to ten years.

Klose stressed the importance of a long transition period to ensure a smooth implementation of the pension concept. Chancellor Friedrich Merz (CDU) and Employment Minister Bärbel Bas (SPD) have both expressed support for completely implementing the Rentenkommission's pension plan. Bas described it as a "total artwork." At the beginning of July, the coalition committee also decided to fully implement the plan by the end of the year.
