The KM CX-5 succeeds the long-serving KF, which had been a bestseller for nearly a decade. Standing on a platform shared with the CX-50 sold in North America, the KM is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor, with an increase in boot space by 61 litres.
Powered by a 2.5-litre SkyActiv-G petrol engine, the KM also features Mazda's mild-hybrid system, delivering 132 kW and 240 Nm of torque. The car comes in four grades - Active, Dynamic, Individual and Homura, with the latter being the most affordable variant featuring all-wheel drive and a 15.5-inch infotainment display. Prices start from R578,250 for the Active AT and go up to R749,100 for the Homura AWD AT.
