Tangani keresahan Melayu-Islam dengan bina keyakinan, jangan serah kepada lawan, kata Kamil

PKR's Deputy Youth Leader, Kamil Munim, emphasized the importance of addressing the anxiety among Malay and Islamic communities through effective political measures. He urged not to leave this space empty, as it would be filled with fear narratives by opponents. Kamil stated that the defeats in PRN Johor and Negeri Sembilan should be accepted with an open mind, as the results show that some people still do not believe that the political path truly understands and addresses their concerns.

He clarified that blaming the people for making choices that are not favorable to us is not acceptable, and instead, we should understand the reasons behind their choices and find ways to regain their trust. Kamil mentioned that performance-based politics alone is not enough to tackle political identity and fear, especially when the opposing political party successfully builds a Malay and Islamic narrative that threatens the current state.

He added that such narratives do not reflect the true situation of the nation but touch the emotions of individuals who are disgruntled about the position of Malay and Islamic communities. Kamil stressed the need to understand this before we can address it, and not to mock the concerned Malay people or belittle those who want to see their religion respected.

He expressed that anxiety about the nation and religion should be heard and responded to with strong politics. If we leave this space empty, others will fill it with fear. If we do not provide confidence, they will sell doubts. Kamil concluded that the confidence of Malays will not disappear just because the nation treats everyone fairly, and Islam will not weaken just because people respect diversity.
